Barcelona’s juggernaut continued with a 4-0 hammering of hosts Athletic Club at the Lezama Facilities on Sunday evening. 

The rout started nine minutes from half-time when defender Marta Torrejón converted a low cross from forward Caroline Graham Hansen for the visitors to lead 1-0 into the break. Graham Hansen came back to haunt the hosts in the second half, doubling her side’s advantage after being set up by fellow forward Mariona Caldentey in the 54th minute for her seventh goal of the season. 

Midfielders Patri Guijarro and Aitana Bonmatí made it 3-0 and 4-0 respectively in the 87th and 92nd minutes off Graham Hansen’s assists. The Norwegian took her assists tally to eight for the season. 

The win completed a perfect 10 for Barcelona and moved them to 30 points whilst the hosts remained on 12 points.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid bounced back from their back-to-back defeats against Barcelona and BK Häcken after beating visiting Sporting Huelva 5-2 at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano on Sunday afternoon.  

The hosts opened the scoring after 37 minutes through midfielder Athenea del Castillo after she was set up by debutant forward Marisa before defender Olga Carmona doubled the advantage two minutes later. The first half rout ended with midfielder Hayley Raso registering her name on the scoresheet in the 42nd minute after being set up by Carmona. 

The visitors pulled a goal back after 57 minutes through midfielder Isina who took advantage of a misjudgement by goalkeeper Mylène Chavas before forward Caroline Møller Hansen restored Madrid’s three goal advantage after 63 minutes.

Møller Hansen completed her brace a minute later after she was set up by del Castillo to make it 5-1 before midfielder Cienfu reduced the arrears on the stroke of full-time to make it 5-2 with a thunderbolt from 25 yards. 

The win moved the hosts to 24 points, level with Levante whilst Huelva remained rooted at the bottom with a single point.

Levante continued with their unbeaten run registering a 3-0 victory over visiting SD Eibar at the Ciudad Deportiva de Buñol - Campo 1 on Saturday afternoon. 

The hosts broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute through forward Gabi Nunes who rose highest to nod home a corner kick from midfielder Ángela Sosa before defender Paula Tomás doubled her side’s advantage a minute into added time of the first-half. 

Nunes made it 3-0 two minutes into the second half to put the match beyond the visitors. 

The win moved the hosts to 24 points whilst the visitors remained on seven points, one place above the relegation zone.

Atlético Madrid rallied in the second half to overcome visiting Granada CF 2-0 at the Centro Deportivo Alcalá de Henares on Sunday afternoon. 

The hosts found the breakthrough four minutes into the second half through forward Rasheedat Ajibade before player of the moment Sheila Guijarro struck home in the 59th minute off a Eva Navarro pass, taking her goal tally for the season to seven. 

The win put the hosts on 22 points whilst the visitors remained on three points and in the relegation zone.

Visiting Madrid CFF defeated a spirited Levante Las Planas 4-3 at the Camp Municipal Les Planes on Sunday afternoon. 

The visitors were the first to hit the back of the net through forward Racheal Kundananji in the 28th minute after she was set up by Ana Gonzalez before defender Morgane Nicoli levelled the scores two minutes later. 

Forward Luany restored the visitors’ lead after 33 minutes before Nicoli levelled again with her second of the day in the third minute of added time of the first half off a Laura Martínez González corner. 

The visitors regained their lead five minutes into added time through defender Mônica off a pass from midfielder Karen Araya. 

The visitors increased their lead in the second half after 67 minutes when Mônica converted from the penalty spot after Kundananji had been pulled by Nicoli in the box before the hosts pulled a goal back two minutes later through substitute midfielder Anissa Lahmari to set up a pulsating finish. 

The hosts were reduced to 10 players after their two-goal heroine Nicoli was shown a second yellow card in the first minute of second half added time. 

The win put Madrid CFF on 21 points whilst Las Planas remained on 15 points.

The El Gran Derbi was a one sided show with Sevilla running amok against visiting Real Betis with a 6-0 win at the Ramón Cisneros Palacios on Saturday night. 

The rout started as early as the eighth minute when midfielder Klára Cahynová headed home a freekick from defender-cum-midfielder Rosa Otermín before midfielder Amanda Sampedro doubled her side’s advantage after 21 minutes off a Toni Payne assist.

Forward Cristina Martín-Prieto made it 3-0 in the 52nd minute off a through ball from fellow forward Inma Gabarro before they added a fourth through Gabarro with 10 minutes left to play. 

Martín-Prieto completed her brace after 82 minutes before Gabarro also completed her brace with a cheeky finish in the first minute of second half added time.

The win put the hosts on 15 points whilst Betis remained on 13 points.

Real Sociedad recorded a 2-0 victory over visiting Valencia at the Instalacións de Zubieta on Saturday afternoon. 

The hosts opened the scoring in the sixth minute when forward Synne Jensen tapped home off a low cross from fellow forward Sanni Franssi before she doubled her side’s lead two minutes into the second half.

The hosts were reduced to 10 players after defender Manuela Vanegas was shown her second yellow card after 79 minutes. 

The win moved the hosts to 13 points whilst the visitors remained on 11 points after three consecutive defeats.

Relegation-threatened Villarreal came from behind to force a share of the spoils after a one-all draw with visiting UDCA Tenerife at the Ciudad Deportiva on Saturday afternoon. 

The visitors were all over their hosts but accuracy let them down as they kept on missing chances in the first half with the hosts forced to backtrack most of the time. The hosts were forced to make an early change after 29 minutes with defender Yenifer Gimenez making way for midfielder Teresa Morató Armengol. 

The visitors broke the deadlock on the hour mark through forward Jassina Blom who was set up by defender Bea Beltrán before the hosts levelled scores with only seven minutes left on the clock through midfielder Claudia Iglesias.

The draw ended the visitors’ two match losing streak, moving them to 13 points whilst Villareal moved to eight points.
