Andressa double inspires Fiorentina rout as Sassuolo hold Juventus: Serie A Femminile Week 13 Round Up

Andressa scored a brace as AS Roma routed 10-woman Fiorentina 7-1 away at the Stadio Piero Torrini in Florence on Saturday.

The Brazilian opened the scoring just four minutes into the first half when she pounced on a Valentina Giacinti rebound shot off the post and slotted home from close range to give the visitors an early lead before midfielder Giada Greggi doubled the lead with a strike on 17 minutes with an assist from midfielder-cum-forward Emilie Haavi.

Serbian forward Milica Mijatović was shown a straight red card for a foul on Roma midfielder Norma Cinotti four minutes before half-time.

Midfielder Alice Parisi pulled one back for Fiorentina to make it 2-1 just three minutes into the second half before Haavi restored Le Giallorosse’s two-goal cushion with a strike seven minutes later to make it 3-1.

Andressa completed her brace as she made it 4-1 with a strike on 74 minutes with an assist from fellow midfielder Annamaria Serturini before 82nd minute substitute midfielder 17-year-old Zara Kramžar made it 5-1 with a strike five minutes from time off a Manuela Giugliano assist.

Cinotti increased the lead to 6-1 with a strike in the first minute of second half extra-time off an assist from 77th minute substitute striker Sophie Roman Haug before Giugliano capped the perfomance with a strike in the 93rd minute this time with Kramžar turning provider.

The result saw Roma open a five point lead at the summit of the Serie A as Fiorentina slipped from third place to fourth on 25 points.

Meanwhile, champions Juventus were held to a one-all draw by Sassuolo at the Juventus Centre Vinovo on Sunday.

Juventus opened the scoring through defender Cecilia Salvai seven minutes into the second half after a difficult first half.

The champions looked set to collect maximum points from their narrow lead before 16-year-old 68th minute substitute midfielder Manuela Sciabica equalised for the Neroverde in the first minute of second half added time off a Davina Philtjens assist to ensure that the teams shared the spoils.

The Bianconere remain second place on 28 points but are now five points adrift log leaders Roma. They have recorded eight wins and four draws in 13 outings whilst Sassuolo are seventh on 11 points from two wins and five draws in the same number of encounters.

Inter moved to third place following a 4-0 thumping of Sampdoria at the Breda Stadium Milano on Saturday.

Forward Elisa Polli opened the scoring with a strike on the half-hour mark off a Ghoutia Karchouni assist with the goal increasing her season’s tally to eight in the Serie A this season and making her joint-second top scorer alongside Juventus’ Cristiana Girelli.

Karchouni’s assist took her season’s tally to five and is now joint-top assist raker in the current Serie A campaign alongside Juventus’ Julia Grosso.

Karchouni doubled the lead to 2-0 with a strike one minute from half-time and the break came with the hosts in the lead.

On loan Malawian forward Tabitha Chawinga made it 3-0 with a strike four minutes into the second half after converting a Polli pass taking her goal tally to 10 for the season as she consolidates her top scorer position in the current Serie A campaign.

Defender Chiara Robustellini put the match to bed with a strike in the 67th minute making it 4-0 to secure maximum points for Rita Guarino’s side.

Inter are now on 25 points from seven wins and four draws in 13 contests whilst Sampdoria slipped from sixth to eighth on the standings on 10 points from three wins and a draw in the same number of ties.

Goals from Martina Piemonte and Guðný Árnadóttir were enough to hand AC Milan a dominant 2-0 win over Parma at home on Sunday.

Piemonte opened the scoring one minute before half-time and the break came with the hosts in the lead. Árnadóttir then put the match to bed with a strike on 58 minutes off an Angelica Soffia assist.

Milan remain fifth on the standings on 22 points from seven wins and a draw in 13 encounters whilst Parma remain at the bottom of the log on six points from one win and three draws in the same number of contests.

Pomigliano piled more misery on FC Como with a 1-0 win over the embattled Serie A newcomers who finished the match with 10 women on Saturday.

Goalkeeper Beatrice Beretta was sent off for handling the ball outside the box on 38 minutes and manager Sebastian de la Fuente took off striker Greta Di Luzio and brought on 16-year-old goalkeeper Giulia Ruma as replacement.

Ruma did not last a minute before conceding her first goal for Como with Pomigliano midfielder Veronica Battelani finding the back of the net on 41 minutes.

The result saw Pomigliano rise from ninth to sixth on the standings on 13 points from four wins and a draw in 13 ties whilst Como slipped from eighth to ninth on 10 points from two wins and four draws in the same number of contests.
