Atlético Madrid face rejuvenated Madrid CFF in derby, Real Madrid in Levante test, Barcelona seek to extend winning run: Week 6 Liga F Preview

Atlético Madrid will lock horns with local rivals Madrid CFF at the Estadio Wanda Atlético de Madrid Alcalá de Henares on Saturday afternoon.

Nigerian forward Rasheedat Ajibade aims to continue with her goal scoring form for the hosts whilst Madrid CFF will be looking forward to the in-form of forward Racheal Kundananji for goals.

Both teams have lost once in their first four matches and won the other three, setting up an interesting battle in Madrid.

The teams have met 10 times and Atlético Madrid have not lost to Madrid CFF, winning eight and drawing two, therefore giving the hosts a great advantage going into this fixture on Saturday.

Elsewhere, in-form Real Madrid make a long trip to unbeaten Levante for a clash at the Ciudad Deportiva de Buñol - Campo 1 on Sunday morning.

The two sides are yet to lose this season though Levante dropped two points and Madrid have won all their matches.

Madrid boast of in-form players like forward Esther González and midfielder Caroline Weir whilst Levante have their hopes in forwards Mayra Ramirez, Alba Redondo and Nataša Andanova.

The teams have met seven times with Levante winning four and losing three giving the possibility that the match can go either way.

Defending champions, Barcelona will be visiting Real Betis for a clash at the Polideportivo Felipe del Valle on Saturday evening looking to consolidate their position at the top of the log standings.

The visitors are yet to drop points this season and hope to collect another set of maximum points.

The Blaugrana will be buoyed by their 9-0 victory over Benfica in the UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) match on Wednesday night and will be hoping to replicate the same form when they battle it out with Betis.

Forwards Asisat Oshoala and Geyse are all in good scoring form and will be complemented by fellow forward Mariona Caldentey who is arguably Barcelona’s best player so far this season whilst Betis forwards have been struggling.

The teams have met 11 times with Barcelona winning 10 and drawing one in the process.

Alavés host equally struggling Athletic Club at the Ciudad Deportiva José Luis Compañón on Saturday afternoon.

The two sides have been struggling of late and the hosts find themselves bottom of the standings without a point whilst Athletic Club have lost their last three matches of the four played so far this campaign.

The two sides have met in two competitive matches so far with Athletic Club winning both matches hence giving them an edge over their hosts on Saturday.

Real Sociedad will be looking for their second win of the season when they clash against Sporting Huelva on Sunday at the Campo del CD Lamiya.

Sociedad boast of not having lost a match this season but have managed a single win in their first four matches and drawn the other three collecting just six points out of a possible 12 whilst the hosts have managed just four points out of the same possible number of points.

The teams have met 11 times at this venue with Sociedad winning seven and drawing the other four which gives them the upper hand going into this fixture.

UDG Tenerife will be looking to turn around their fortunes when they host Villarreal at Estadio La Palmera on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts would want to quickly forget about the heart-breaking last-minute equaliser by Sociedad last weekend.

Having played a game less than their opponents they are fully aware that their performance so far is not convincing after managing only four points out of a possible nine whilst Villarreal have lost three of their first four matches and managed just a single victory.

Tenerife defender Patri Gavira was given a red card and will be missing on Sunday.

The teams have met two times and both matches were won by Tenerife.

Valencia host Levante Las Planas at the Estadio Antonio Puchades on Sunday afternoon.

The teams are tied on seven points and the visitors have done well so far after regaining promotion to the Liga F whilst Valencia will be looking forward to collecting maximum points in a tough battle.

Las Planas will be banking on forward Irina Uribe for goals whilst Valencia will be hoping their former forward Mari Paz will not come back to haunt them.

The teams have met four times with both winning twice and either team will be looking forward to being the first to record a third win against the other.

Sevilla will be aiming for their second win of the campaign when they host struggling Alhama CF ElPozo at the Ramón Cisneros Palacios on Sunday evening.

The visitors will be banking on the experience of forward Jade Boho whilst Sevilla will be banking on forwards Ana Franco and Jessica Martínez for goals.

The teams met once in a friendly match in August this year and Sevilla won the match 3-0 which gives them the confidence of collecting maximum points.
