Barcelona in Levante test as Real, Atlético look to bounce back: Liga F Week 7 Preview

Barcelona aim to continue with their 100% start to the season as they welcome tricky Levante at the Estadi Johan Cruyff on Sunday afternoon.

The defending champions look to make it six wins in a row despite the energy draining UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) schedule whilst Levante, who have drawn two matches, will be aiming to extend their unbeaten run and be the first side to stop their weekend opponents from collecting maximum points this season.

Barcelona will pose a great threat to the visitors as they boast of deadly forwards who include last season’s joint-top goal scorers Geyse and Asisat Oshoala who have equally good support from forwards Mariona Caldentey and Caroline Graham Hansen.

Levante, on the other hand, will be banking on forwards Alba Redondo and Mayra Ramírez.

The teams have met 27 times with Barcelona winning 24, losing one and drawing two.

Elsewhere, Real Madrid will be looking to bounce back from last weekend’s setback when they host Sevilla at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano on Sunday night.

The Madrid side suffered two draws in a row including Wednesday’s nil-all UWCL draw with PSG at home and will be looking to return to winning ways to stay in touch with teams at the top.

Sevilla, on the other hand, have been crawling back into the picture managing to collect seven points from their last three matches and will be hoping to collect some points in this fixture.

Madrid will be hoping that the likes of forward Esther Gonzalez and midfielder Caroline Weir are in good form whilst the visitors will be banking on forward Ana Franco who has been scoring goals for them this season.

The teams have met three times at this venue and the hosts have won all the matches giving them a high probability of winning the match on Sunday.

Athletic Club host Atlético Madrid at the Instalaciones de Lezama Campo 1 on Saturday morning.

Atlético Madrid dropped five points in their first five games whilst Athletic Club will look to ignite their season which has seen them collect four points out of a possible 15.

The visitors will be hoping that forwards Ludmila and Rashdeet Ajibade will be at the top of their game.

The sides have met 24 times with the hosts winning seven, losing 10 and drawing seven. This head-to-head gives Atlético Madrid a positive feeling going into the match.

Madrid CFF host UDG Tenerife at the Estadio Fernando Torres on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts will be looking up to their dependable forwards such as Racheal Kundananji and Florencia Bonsegundo for goals whilst Tenerife will be banking on forwards Jassina Blom and Maria Jose Perez.

The teams have met 10 times with Tenerife winning six, losing three and drawing one.

Real Sociedad will be looking to make it two wins a row when they make a trip to Alavés on Saturday for a clash at the Ciudad Deportiva José Luis Compañón.

The two teams met twice in competitive matches with Sociedad winning both fixtures convincingly.

Alhama CF ElPozo host Real Betis in a bottom-of-the-table clash at the Campo de Fútbol José María Soriano Muñoz when on Saturday evening.

Alhama have lost all their opening five matches whilst Betis lost four and drew one.

The winner of this fixture will be guaranteed a place outside the relegation zone at the weekend.

Alhama boast of experienced forward Jade Boho who has been finding the net whilst Betis will be banking on forwards Angela Sosa and Leles for redemption.

The sides have not met before.

Levante Las Planas fancy the chances of collecting maximum points when they host struggling Sporting Huelva at the Camp Municipal Les Planes on Sunday afternoon.

Las Planas are enjoying a good start to the season with eight points from five games and another set of points will be much welcome for the newly promoted side whilst Huelva have been finding the going tough managing only four points from a possible 15.

The hosts will be banking on forwards Irina Uribe and Mari Paz who have scored five of their team’s eight goals whilst Huelva have struggled in front of goal with only one goal in five matches.

The teams have met four times before and Huelva won all the four matches.

Villarreal and Valencia lock horns at the Ciudad Deportiva on Sunday afternoon.

Villarreal have managed one win and suffered four defeats in their first five matches whilst Valencia have collected eight points from a possible 15.

The teams have met in two competitive matches with Valencia winning both matches and this will be motivating to the visitors.
