Barcelona, Levante record big wins as Real survive Madrid CFF scare: Liga F Week 13 Round Up

Defending champions Barcelona humiliated visiting Levante Las Planas with a 9-1 defeat at the Estadi Johan Cruyff on Saturday evening. 

The Catalan giants began their rampage as early as the fifth minute through young forward Salma Paralluelo from the tightest of angles having been set up by fellow young forward Esmee Brugts. 

The hosts doubled their lead after 23 minutes through forward Mariona Caldentey from the penalty spot before midfielder Aitana Bonmatí scored the third five minutes later with a clever turn-and-shoot as player-of-the-moment Caroline Graham Hansen recorded her 10th assist of the season. 

Graham Hansen scored her 10th goal of the season five minutes from half-time with a chipped finish from outside the box off a pass from Caldentey. 

The visitors went for experience, taking off debutant midfielder Carla Juliá Martínez for midfielder Yasmin Mrabet at the break. 

However, the hosts increased their goal tally to five in the 50 minute through midfielder Clàudia Pina before she provided an assist to midfielder Patri Guijarro a minute later to make it 6-0. 

The visitors pulled a goal back in the 63rd minute through midfielder Allegra Poljak after a mistake from midfielder Ingrid Syrstad Engen. 

The hosts lost defender Marta Torrejón in the 68th minute with a suspected knee injury. The Spaniard limped off the pitch with the assistance of two medical staff and was replaced by the returning Irene Paredes. 

Substitute young forward Vicky López made it 7-1 with six minutes remaining before Guijarro completed her brace in the second minute of second half added time to make it 8-1. Another substitute forward Asisat Oshoala completed the scoring in the third minute of added time after she was set up by López. 

The win put the hosts on 39 points and maintained their 100% record whilst the visitors remained on 16 points.

Meanwhile, a rampant Levante demolished hosts Villarreal 5-0 at the Ciudad Deportiva José Manuel Llaneza on Saturday night. 

The visitors breached the resilient Villarreal defence after 25 minutes with forward Mayra Ramírez giving them the lead with a flicked header off a cross from defender Silvia Lloris. Last season’s top goal scorer Alba Redondo doubled the visitors’ lead after 38 minutes with a well taken finish off a pass from left back Paula Tomás. 

The demolition continued in the second half with Ramírez completing her brace after 68 minutes off a pass from defender María Méndez before she capped a fine day with a third goal three minutes later to complete her hat-trick and make it 4-0, assisted by Nataša Andonova. 

The rampage ended with an icing on the cake from Redondo who completed her brace with 12 minutes left to play off a pass from substitute forward Gabi Nunes to make it 5-0. 

The win moved the visitors to 30 points whilst the hosts remained on nine points.

In a dramatic turn of events at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano, Real Madrid scored two late goals to beat visiting Madrid CFF 2-1 on Sunday night. 

The hosts welcomed back forwards Linda Caicedo and Naomie Feller from injury as the two players made it into the starting line up. 

The visitors took the lead in the first minute of second half added time through midfielder Cristina Librán Quiroga.

The hosts replied in the fifth minute of added time with defender Ivana Andrés heading home off an Oihane Hernández’s cross. 

The hosts found the winner in the 99th minute through substitute forward Caroline Møller who headed home substitute midfielder Hayley Raso’s cross. 

The win moved Real Madrid to 30 points but surrendered second place to Levante due to goal difference whilst Madrid CFF remained on 27 points.

Atlético Madrid roared back in style to win 6-1 against hosts Valencia after going behind at the Estadio Antonio Puchades on Sunday evening. 

The hosts found a breakthrough after 11 minutes through defender Pauleta who coolly converted a pass from forward Ascensión Martínez Salinas before forward Sheila Guijarro levelled the scores for the visitors three minutes later. 

Guijarro gave her side the lead after 22 minutes when she converted a through ball from midfielder and skipper Leicy Santos before completing her hattrick four minutes later. 

Guijarro was not finished yet as she came back to haunt the hosts in the 36th minute having linked up with Santos again to make it 4-1, going into the half-time break. She took her season’s goal tally to 11 and went on top of the goal scorers charts. 

Guijarro turned provider in the 58th minute when she set up midfielder Eva Navarro who made it 5-1 before the four-goal heroine was substituted for returning forward Ludmila. 

Midfielder Gabriela García rounded off the scoring after she headed home a corner kick from defender Carmen Menayo to make it 6-1. 

The win moved the visitors to fourth on the standings and 29 on points whilst the hosts remained on 14 points with four losses in their last five matches.

UDCA Tenerife salvaged a point against hosts Real Sociedad with a 3-3 result at the Instalaciones de Zubieta on Sunday afternoon. 

The hosts took a 20th minute lead through forward Sanni Franssi, off a pass from fellow forward Synne Jensen. 

The lead did not last long as the visitors responded six minutes later through forward Gift Monday who headed home a cross from fellow countrywoman forward Rinsola Babajide. 

The hosts restored their lead two minutes from half-time through Jensen, who took her season’s goal tally to eight. 

The hosts doubled their advantage ten minutes into the second half through Franssi who tucked home a rebound off the upright from Jensen’s initial effort to complete her brace. 

Substitute winger Koko Ange made her presence felt a minute after coming on when she fed forward Jassina Blom who coolly finished to reduce the arrears and make it 3-2 for the visitors in the 69th minute. 

Another substitute forward Esther Okoronkwo engineered the equaliser when she set up forward María José Pérez González who levelled the scores in the fifth minute of second half added time. 

The draw put the hosts on 18 points whilst the visitors moved to 17 points.

Athletic Club scored in either half to overcome a resilient visiting SD Eibar 2-0 at the Lezama Facilities on Sunday afternoon. 

The hosts broke the deadlock after 12 minutes through former Real Madrid forward Nahikari García after she was set up by defender Ane Elexpuru beofre substitute forward Jone Amezaga rose from the bench with nine minutes left to play to score the assurance goal in the third minute of added time, off a pass from defender Garazi Fácila. 

The win moved the hosts to 19 points whilst the visitors remained on 10 points.

Granada CF registered their second win of the season with a 3-2 victory against Real Betis away in a closely contested duel at the Ciudad Deportiva Luis de Sol on Sunday afternoon. 

The visitors opened the scoring as early as the 12th minute through forward Ornella Vignola who rose highest to head home a cross from midfielder Naima García before forward Tiffany Cameron levelled the scores 11 minutes later. 

Vignola restored her side’s lead on the hour mark before the hosts levelled again through defender Dorine Chuigoué. 

The decisive moment for the visitors came in the 92nd minute when they were awarded a penalty which was saved by the goalkeeper but forward Carlota Suárez redeemed herself, scoring the rebound to make it 3-2 to earn her team the maximum points.

Sevilla continued with their fine form as they overcame hosts Sporting Huelva 3-1 at the Estadio Antonio Toledo Sánchez on Sunday night. 

The visitors opened the scoring in the 36th minute through forward Cristina Martín-Prieto, off a pass from defender Lucía Rodríguez before Japanese international forward Miku Kojima levelled the scores three minutes later with a diving header, off a cross from forward Patrícia Hmírová. 

The visitors restored their lead four minutes into the second half through midfielder Klára Cahynová who headed home a corner kick from fellow midfielder Rosa Otermín. 

The visitors lost forward Inma Gabarro to injury and was replaced by midfielder Gemma Gilli in the 79th minute. 

The visitors rounded up the scoring in the 95th minute when Otermín laid the ball for Martín-Prieto who completed her brace. 

The win moved Sevilla to 22 points whilst Huelva remained anchored at the bottom with a single point.
