Second half goals from Barbara Bonansea and Arianna Caruso saw reigning champions Juventus bounce back from a disappointing one-all draw against Como last weekend to register a 2-0 win over Inter Milan in the derby d’Italia on Saturday.

Bonansea opened the scoring for the Turin side on 51 minutes with an assist from fellow forward Cristiana Girelli before Caruso doubled the lead with a strike just a minute later with an assist from former Bayern Munich forward Lineth Beerensteyn as the visitors secured a crucial three points.

The win took Juventus to 24 points with seven wins and three draws in 11 outings and are second on the standings. Inter, on the other hand, slipped from third to fourth on 19 points from five wins and four draws in the same number of contests.

Meanwhile, a second half Manuela Giugliano brace was enough for AS Roma to dismiss AC Milan 2-0 away at the Centro Sportivo Peppino Vismara on Sunday.

Giugliano opened the scoring for Le Giallorosse 10 minutes into the second half with an assist from Emilie Haavi before she scored again seven minutes later to complete her brace and hand Alessandro Spugna’s side their 10th win of the term.

The win saw Roma maintain a six-point lead at the top of the Serie A log having recorded an impressive 10 wins in 11 encounters. AC Milan, on the other hand, remain sixth on the standings on 16 points from five wins and a draw in the same number of ties.

Fiorentina rose to third on the standings following a 3-2 win over Como away on Sunday.

Viola opened the scoring through Hungarian forward Zsanett Kaján seconds after kick-off with an assist from midfielder Veronica Boquete before former AC Milan striker Miriam Longo doubled the visitors’ lead with a strike just three minutes later with an assist from midfielder Alice Parisi. Longo completed her brace with another strike on 58 minutes with an assist from former Breidablik midfielder Alexandra Jóhannsdóttir.

Como pulled one back through Swedish midfielder Julia Karlernäs on 72 minutes with an assist from defender Joyce Borini before forward Chiara Beccari added another one four minutes from time with an assist from Estonian forward Vlada Kubassova to make it 3-2.

The win took the Florence side to 22 points, three above Inter, having registered seven wins and a draw in 11 outings. Como, on the other hand, slipped from eighth to ninth on the standings on seven points from one win and four draws in the same number of outgoings.

Beleaguered Sassuolo suffered their fourth draw of the term after being held 2-2 by Parma at home on Sunday.

The Neroverde opened the scoring through Scottish forward Lana Clelland just eight minutes into the first half off a Giada Pondini assist before forward Melania Martinovic equalised for Parma with a strike just five minutes later.

Former Roma forward Marija Banušić made it 2-1 for Parma with a strike eight minutes from time as Sassuolo’s problems appeared to compound.

Eleonora Goldoni equalised for the hosts with a strike four minutes into second half extra-time as Sassuolo rescued a point on a difficult afternoon at home.

Sassuolo rose from seventh to sixth on the standings with the draw on goal difference having recorded two wins and four draws in 11 outings whilst troubled Parma — formerly known as Empoli Ladies before a buyout of the club by Parma in June this year — remain at the bottom of the log on six points from one win and three draws the same number of ties.

A late Veronica Battelani penalty was enough for Pomigliano to edge Sampdoria 1-0 at home on Saturday.

Battelani converted the 84th minute spot kick to hand the hosts a crucial three points after having been fouled in the box by Sampdoria defender Giorgio Spinelli.

The win saw Pomigliano rise from ninth to eighth on the standings on 10 points from three wins and a draw in 11 contests and are one place beneath Sampdoria on goal difference. Sampdoria slipped from sixth to seventh following their third consecutive defeat and are one place beneath Sassuolo also on goal difference having registered three wins and a draw in the same number of outings.
