Easy fixtures for big guns as Huelva seek another win on the trot: Liga F Week 15 Preview

Log leaders Barcelona are back in the hunt with a trip to the city of Sevilla for a tie against Real Betis at the Ciudad Deportiva Luis de Sol on Sunday afternoon.

The visitors are bubbling from their 7-0 demolition of Levante in the Supercopa final last weekend whilst the hosts are seeking a redemption after a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Madrid CFF in the league last weekend.

The visitors have a marauding team that is balanced in all departments, with the frontline led by player of the moment forward Caroline Graham Hansen, supported by evergreen midfield magician Aitana Bonmatí, with the returning Marta Torrejón set to marshall the defence. The hosts, on the other hand, will be hoping that midfielder Leles and forward Júlia Aguado are at their best to lead the team to victory.

A win for the hosts will take them to 16 points and will make them the first to inflict a defeat on Barcelona whilst a win for the visitors will take them to 42 points.

The teams have met 13 times, with Barcelona winning 12 and drawing one.

Meanwhile, second-placed Levante will be looking to maintain their top three grip when they meet struggling visiting Granada CF at the Ciudad Deportiva de Buñol - Campo 1 on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts will be looking to bounce back from their 7-0 humiliation at the hands of Barcelona in the Supercopa final last weekend whilst the visitors will be aiming for their third win of the season after their narrow 1-0 loss to bottom-placed Sporting Huelva last weekend.

Levante will be hoping that their forwards, led by forward Alba Redondo, will propel them to victory.

The visitors, on the other hand, will be banking on the defensive abilities of defender Cristina Postigo Martín to thwart all the hosts’ raids whilst forward Ornella Vignola and midfielder Naima García will be complimenting her efforts by providing the wanted goals.

A win for Levante will take them to 33 points whilst a win for the visitors will move them to nine points.

The teams have met twice, with Levante winning both matches.

Real Madrid face a relatively tricky test this weekend when they clash with hosts Athletic Club at the Lezama facilities on Saturday evening.

The visitors will be looking to avoid another defeat as they are coming from a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Barcelona in the Supercopa semi-final last week whilst the hosts picked up a point in a one-all draw away to UDCA Tenerife last weekend.

The visitors will be looking to put more concentration in the league as they failed to qualify for the UEFA Women’s Champions League Round of 16.

They will be missing their latest injury casualties, left back Olga Carmona and midfielder Sandie Toletti, but will be hoping that forward Caroline Møller continues with her goal-scoring form to lead the team to victory in the absence of Danish forward Signe Bruun.

The hosts, on the other hand, will be banking on forward Nahikari García, who has been scoring crucial goals of late, to lead the team to victory with the backing of defensive pillars in Maddi Torre and Nerea Nevada.

A win for Real will take them to 33 points and retain their top three hopes whilst a win for the hosts will take them to 23 points.

The teams have met eight times, with Real winning six and losing two.

Fifth-placed Atlético Madrid will be on the road to the city of Barcelona where they face Levante Las Planas at the Camp Municipal Les Planes on Saturday afternoon.

The visitors will be looking to collect maximum points against their struggling opponents who have gone for seven matches without a win (six losses and one draw) in all competitions.

The visitors will be banking on the goal scoring form of their find-of-the-season forward Sheila Guijarro, who is looking forward to adding to her 11 goals as she eyes the golden boot come end of the season.

The hosts, on the other hand, will be hoping that their reliable forward Irina Uribe rediscovers her last season’s form to lead the team in avoiding relegation, with the support of experienced forward Jessica Martínez.

A win for the hosts will take them to 19 points whilst a win for the visitors will move them to 32 points.

The teams have met six times, with Atlético winning five and losing one.

Fourth-placed Madrid CFF will be looking to maintain their momentum as they challenge for a top three finish when they visit Real Sociedad at the Zubieta z7 on Sunday evening.

Both teams registered wins last weekend and either team will be looking to build on that, with the hosts banking on the rejuvenated forwards Sanni Franssi and Synne Jensen supported by midfielder and skipper Nerea Eizaguirre.

The visitors will be hoping that forwards Karen Araya, Luany and midfielder Cristina Librán Quiroga carry last weekend’s form into this match whilst hoping for their top scorer Racheal Kundananji to regain her form and step up to lead the team to victory.

A win for the hosts will take them to 24 points whilst a win for the visitors will move them to 33 points to stay close to the top teams.

The teams have met 12 times, with Real Sociedad winning five, losing four and drawing three.

A resurgent Sevilla will be looking to extend their eight-match unbeaten run when they clash with visiting SD Eibar at the Ramón Cisneros Palacios on Sunday night.

The hosts have benefitted from the form of forward Cristina Martín-Prieto Gutiérrez and midfielder Gema Gili, who have scored crucial goals in their unbeaten run.

The visitors, on the other hand, will be buoyed by their 1-0 win over Valencia last weekend to cause another upset.

They will be hoping for another masterclass performance from forward Esperanza Pizarro and midfielder Arene Altonaga to inspire the team to victory.

A win for Sevilla will take them to 28 points whilst a win for the visitors will take them to 16 points.

The teams have met four times, with either team winning two matches.

Bottom side Sporting Huelva have a chance to make it two wins on the trot with a home fixture against Villarreal at the Estadio Antonio Toledo Sánchez on Saturday evening.

The hosts are buoyed by their 1-0 win against Granada CF last weekend and will be hoping that winger Isina is at her best to provide the pinpoint crosses for the likes of forwards Patrícia Hmírová and the returning Joy Bokiri.

The visitors, on the other hand, will be aiming to bounce back from their 3-1 loss against Sevilla and will be hoping that midfielders Fatou Kanteh and Claudia Iglesias are at their best to help them collect maximum points.

A win for Huelva will take them to seven points whilst a win for visiting Villarreal will take them to 12 points.

The teams have met four times, with Huelva winning one match and drawing the other three matches.

Valencia, who have lost track after losing six league matches in their last seven, will be looking to bounce back with a win against visiting UDCA Tenerife at the Antonio Puchades on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts will be looking to utilise home advantage and hope that forwards Ivonne Chacón and Asun Martínez come to the party and propel the team to victory whilst the visitors will be hoping that their speed wingers Rinsola Babajide and Koko Ange are at their best to keep the supply line open to forward Jassina Blom.

The visitors will be missing defender Claudia Blanco who is suspended after receiving two yellow cards against Athletic Club last weekend.

A win for Valencia will take them to 17 points whilst a win for the visitors will move them to 21 points.
