Five star Barcelona thrash Eibar as Real, Levante suffer shock defeats: Liga F Week 11 Round Up

Defending champions Barcelona produced a five star second half performance to beat visiting SD Eibar 5-0 at the Estadi Johan Cruyff on Saturday evening. 

The hosts broke the deadlock after 57 minutes through player of the moment Caroline Graham Hansen who slotted home from outside the box off a pass from midfielder Patri Guijarro. 

Graham Hansen turned provider a minute later when she set up fellow forward Esmee Brugts who converted the heeled pass stylishly to double their side’s lead. Brugts completed her first Barcelona hat trick with goals in the 61st and 66th minutes off passes from forward Mariona Caldentey and defender Lucía Corrales Álvarez respectively to open a four-goal advantage for her side. 

Substitute forward Ariana Arias put the icing on the cake, rounding off the scoring in the 88th minute off a pass from fellow substitute defender Lucy Bronze. 

The win saw the hosts maintain their 100% record and move to 33 points whilst the visitors remained on seven points, just one place above the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid had a second half to forget after succumbing to a 3-1 defeat against visiting Sevilla at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano on Saturday night. 

The visitors opened the scoring six minutes into the second half when defender Oihane Hernández turned the ball into her own net, beating goalkeeper Misa Rodríguez. 

The visitors lost defender Lucía Rodríguez through injury in the 61st minute and she was replaced by midfielder Pamela González. 

The hosts equalised in the 85th minute through forward Caroline Møller who thought she had salvaged a point for her team. 

Defender Arola Aparicio restored her side’s lead with a chipped goal in the fourth minute of added time after she was set up by forward Inma Gabarro before Aparicio turned provider, setting up midfielder Gemma Gilito to make it 3-1 after 10 minutes of added time. 

The win moved the visitors to 18 points whilst the hosts remained on 24 points but dropped in position and now trail log leaders Barcelona by nine points.

Atlético Madrid moved to second place with a 2-0 win over hosts Real Betis at the Ciudad Deportiva Luis de Sol on Sunday evening. 

The visitors took a sixth minute lead through midfielder Estefanía Romina Banini Ruiz who converted a pass from forward Sheila Guijarro.

The visitors doubled their advantage with 17 minutes remaining on the clock through forward Rasheedat Ajibade who was set up by midfielder Gabriela García. 

The win moved the visitors to second position with 25 points whilst the hosts remained on 13 points.

Levante suffered their first defeat of the season when they fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat against hosts Athletic Club at the Instalaciones de Lezama Campo 2 on Sunday afternoon. 

The hosts broke the deadlock after 54 minutes through forward Ane Azkona who converted a pass from defender Nerea Nevado. 

The defeat meant that Levante spurned the chance to leap-frog Real Madrid into second position after the latter lost their match against Sevilla on Saturday night. 

The win moved Athletic Club to 15 points whilst the visitors remained on 24 points and dropped to fourth position.

Real Sociedad made it two wins in a row with a 2-1 victory over hosts Sporting Huelva at the Ciudad Deportiva Decáno del Fútbol Español on Saturday afternoon. 

The visitors took a 21st minute lead through forward Mirari Uria before the hosts levelled the scores after 40 minutes through defender Katarzyna Konat who headed home a cross from midfielder María Cienfuegos Baragaño. 

The visitors restored their lead after 72 minutes through forward Synne Jensen who coolly converted a pass from midfielder Andreia Jacinto. 

The win moved the visitors to 16 points whilst the hosts remained rooted at the bottom with one point.

UDCA Tenerife were back to winning ways after beating visiting Granada CF 2-0 at the Campo Municipal de Fútbol de Adeje on Saturday afternoon. 

The hosts opened the scoring in the10th minute when forward Koko Ange converted a pass from fellow forward Rinsola Babajide before doubling their lead in the 61st minute through midfielder Thaís from a rebound shot. 

The win moved the hosts to 16 points whilst the visitors remained in the relegation zone with three points.

Levante Las Planas came from two goals down to force a 2-2 draw against hosts Villarreal at the Ciudad Deportiva on Sunday afternoon. 

The hosts opened the scoring in the 25th minute through midfielder Claudia Iglesias, better known as Bicho, who capitalised on a dummy sold by forward Kayla McKenna. 

The hosts doubled their advantage two minutes into the second half through midfielder María Llompart who converted a pass from McKenna. 

The visitors reduced the deficit eight minutes before time through substitute midfielder Cristina Baudet Lucena before forward Jessica Martínez levelled the scores in the 97th minute. 

The draw put the visitors on 16 points whilst the hosts moved to nine points.

Valencia failed to ease their relegation pressure after surrendering a two-goal lead to lose 4-3 to visiting Madrid CFF at the Ciudad Deportiva de Paterna on Sunday evening. 

The hosts took a 26th minute lead through forward Ivonne Chacón and they went to the half-time break leading 1-0. 

The hosts doubled their lead five minutes into the second half through midfielder Pauleta who converted a pass from Chacón. 

The visitors pulled a goal back after 57 minutes through their top goalscorer Racheal Kundananji who was set up by midfielder Laura Domínguez before Chacón restored the hosts’ two-goal advantage two minutes later with a cheeky chip. 

The visitors rallied their team with substitutes midfielder Karen Araya and forward Luany combining with the former pulling a goal back after 74 minutes to make it 3-2. 

Defender Aldana Cometti levelled the scores with 10 minutes left to full time after coolly converting a low cross from substitute midfielder Cristina Librán’s corner kick. 

Midfielder Ana González completed the visitors’ come-back from the penalty spot in the first minute of second half extra-time.

The win moved the visitors to 24 points whilst the hosts remained on 11 points.
