Mammoth task for Sociedad, Levante eye win against Betis, Madrid CFF seek redemption: Liga F Week 11 Preview

Real Sociedad will face their biggest challenge this season when they make a trip to face Barcelona at the Estadi Johan Cruyff on Saturday afternoon.

Real Sociedad would be looking to cause an upset and be the first side to end Barcelona’s juggernaut after 40 games unbeaten in the Liga F since last season and make it three wins in a row.

The visitors are aware of the scoring exploits of the hosts who have been big hitters this season with 43 goals scored so far with marauding forwards Geyse, Asisat Oshoala, Clàudia Pina and upcoming forward Salma Paralluelo, who is a summer arrival from Villarreal, being on target.

Their defence, which has conceded just three goals this season, is being well marshalled by Mapi León.

The two sides have met 25 times in competitive matches with Barcelona winning 20 and drawing five, giving the hosts an 80% probability of winning the match. Sociedad, however, will be looking to break the jinx and win their first match against the hosts.

Elsewhere, Levante will be looking to continue with their good start as they make a long trip to face Real Betis at the Benito Villamarín on Sunday evening.

The visitors are in third position and would want to extend their points tally with a win against Betis to consolidate their position whilst Betis have been battling inconsistency.

Levante’s leading goal scorer forward Alba Redondo will be looking to add more goals to her tally to keep pace with other scorers in the league. Betis, on the other hand, will be hoping midfielders Ángela Sosa and Grace Asantewaa are at their best to keep a clean supply of balls to the frontline led by Rinsola Babajide.

The teams have met 12 times with Levante winning six, losing three and drawing the other three, giving the visitors a 50% chance of winning the match.

High riding Real Madrid have an easy task when they take on struggling Levante Las Planas at the Camp Municipal Les Planes on Saturday evening.

They are eyeing maximum points to keep pressure on log leaders Barcelona as they look to end the Catalans’ Liga F dominance whilst the hosts are hoping for a change in fortunes having lost all their last five matches.

The Madrid side boast of talented forwards like Esther González, Teresa Abelleira and Naomie Feller complimented by midfielders Caroline Weir, Athenea del Castillo whilst Las Planas will be banking on experienced forward Mari Paz.

Las Planas will be missing the services of defender Nuria Garrote Camuñez through suspension after her red card against Real Sociedad last weekend.

The teams have not met before.

Madrid CFF face a mammoth task when they meet Athletic Club at the Instalaciones de Lezama Campo 1 on Saturday evening.

The visitors are on a two-match losing streak and hope their strike force led by forward Racheal Kundananji and Florencia Bonsegundo will be at their best to provide goals and bring their campaign back on track.

The hosts will be hoping for another harvest of goals as they seek to make it two wins in a row and move up the standings.

The teams have met five times at this venue with Athletic Club winning four and losing one. Overall, the teams have met 10 times with Athletic Club winning six and Madrid CFF winning the other four.

Strugglers Sevilla and UDG Tenerife have a date at the Ramón Cisneros Palacios on Saturday afternoon.

Both sides have won once, lost three times and drawn once in their last five matches and are tied on 11 points.

The hosts will be hoping that forward Jessica Martínez is at her best complemented by midfielder Amanda Sampedro whilst the visitors will be looking up to forwards María José Pérez González and Jessica Blom for goals.

The teams have met five times at this venue with Sevilla winning three and losing the other two. Overall, they have met 11 times with Tenerife winning eight and Sevilla winning three.

Atlético Madrid will be looking to bounce back from their 6-1 capitulation to Barcelona last weekend when they face Valencia at the Estadio Antonio Puchades on Sunday afternoon.

Atlético’s top goal scorer forward Ludmila will miss the match after she suffered a knee injury during the Barcelona clash last weekend. Forwards Marta Cardona and Rasheedat Ajibade will have to step up and fill the void.

The teams have met 11 times at this venue with Atlético Madrid winning six, losing one and drawing four. Overall, they have met 22 times with Atletico winning 13, losing two and drawing the other seven, giving the Madrid side a big chance of winning this fixture.

Buoyed by their victory over Madrid CFF last weekend, Sporting Huelva are hoping to beat Alavés when they meet at the Campo del CD Lamiya on Sunday afternoon.

Alavés will also be spurred by their first win of the season last weekend against Real Betis.

The hosts will be without goalkeeper Chelsea Ashurst who was given a red card at the end of their match against Madrid CFF last weekend.

The teams have met twice with Huelva winning the home fixture and drawing the away one to Alavés last season.

Bottom-placed Alhama CF ElPozo will be looking for their second win of the season when they take on equally struggling Villarreal at the Campo de Fútbol José María Soriano Muñoz on Sunday afternoon.

Alhama will be hoping that experienced forward Jade Boho will be at her best with more goals having scored against Real Madrid last weekend whilst Villarreal will be looking up to Belén Martínez for goals.

The visitors will be missing the services of defender Paola Soldevila who is suspended after receiving a red card last weekend against Athletic Club.
