Monterrey, Chivas, América look to bounce back as Pachucha, Tigres seek to maintain pressure: Liga MX Femenil Week 11 Preview

CF Monterrey will be looking to bounce back from a 2-2 draw away at second-placed Guadalajara Chivas when they play fifth-placed U.A.N.L Tigres at home on Sunday.

Eva Espejo's girls will have to pull up their socks and display a superb performance as they seek to get past their opponents on Sunday.

They will look up to their star forward Mia Fishel, who will be confident to add on to her goal tally of seven goals this season having been on the scoresheet last Monday.

Meanwhile, Chivas Guadalajara will be looking to bounce back from a 2-2 draw against Monterrey CF in their last game when they travel to third-placed Club América on Saturday.

Las Chivas will be banking on the scoring exploits of their 29-year-old star forward Alicia Cervantes, who is assured of support from fellow forward Adriana Iturbide and the in-form midfielder Ivonne Gonzàlez. They also boast of a solid defence marshalled by Karla Martinez and wingbacks Anacamila Hernàndez and Damaris Godìnez.

The hosts, on the other hand, will be banking on their top goalscorer forward Katty Martìnez who will lead the attack.

The teams have met eight times, with Chivas winning two, losing two and drawing four.

Las Chivas are second on the standings with 26 points in eight wins and two draws whilst Club América are on 23 points in seven wins and two draws in 10 games.

Fourth-placed Pachuca FC will be looking to keep pressure on the third place Club América and Chivas with a win when they host seventh-placed Club Tijuana on Sunday.

Las Tuzas will be looking to make it two wins in a row after emphatically dispatching struggling Mazatlàn in matchweek 10 whilst Club Tijuana will be looking to maintain their fine form.

Forward Jennifer Hermoso and midfielder Marta Cox Villareal were on target for Juan Carlos's  side in their 2-0 win over Mazatlàn and Las Tuzas will be hoping that the two will be in the same form as they seek a crucial set of maximum points to keep pressure on log leaders Monterrey.

Pachuca's Charlyn Corral has scored 11 goals this term and is the top goalscorer on the Liga MX Femenil charts whilst Jennifer Hermoso has scored seven times for Pachuca.

Pachuca CF have 21 points in seven wins whilst Tijuana have managed to register five wins, three draws and two losses and have 18 points.

Juárez FC will be looking to make it two wins on the trot when they travel to tricky ninth-placed Cruz Azul at the Instalaciones La Noria on Saturday.

Mila Martìnez side will be looking to build on their 3-2 win over Atlético San Luis on matchday 10 whilst Cruz Azul will be looking to bounce back from a 2-2 draw against Club Leon on matchday 10.

Las Bravas will turn to the services of their top goalscoring midfielder Jasmine Casarez who has bagged six goals for Juárez in the league. They will also turn to forward Myra Delgadillo who has netted four goals in the league and is joint-fourth top goalscorer.

Juárez are sixth on the standings on 19 points from two wins and five draws in 10 contests whilst La Máquina are ninth on 11 points from two wins and five draws in the same number of matches.

Eighth-placed Atlas will be searching for a first win in four games when they travel to 13th placed Santa Laguna on Monday.

Fabiola Vargas`s side collected a single point in their last match against U.N.A.M Pumas and will be looking to mount a fresh challenge to Jorge Campos's side who ended with a 2-0 loss to Toluca FC in their last match.

They will call upon their top goalscoring centre forwards Fabiola Ibarra, Alejandro Lomelli and Marcia García who have registered six goals amongst themselves.

On the other hand, Santa Laguna, searching for their first win in three games, will be banking on their top goal scoring centre forward Alexia Villanueva who has registered four goals in all competitions this season.

Atlas FC are number eight on the log standings with four wins, one draw and five losses whilst Santos Laguna are 13th with nine points from two wins and three draws in 10 contests.

Querétaro will be looking for their first win in five games when they host U.N.A.M Pumas on Saturday.

They will entrust centre back Jazmin Enrigue, who is a wall in defending and tops their goalscoring charts, to replicate her fine form in this encounter. On the other hand Pumas will be banking on their top goal scoring forward Venicía Juárez for goals.

Both teams have had a poor performance since the start of the season and a win will put them back in the race.

Querétaro are 12 on the log standings with 10 points from two wins and four draws whilst the visitors have recorded 10 points from two wins and four draws as well and are 11 on the standings.

Toluca will be in search of their second win in a row when they host 17th placed Mazatlán on Sunday.

They go into this encounter with a 2-0 win over Santos Laguna on matchday 10 in the back of their minds and will hope that their top stars Destinney Duron and midfielder Brenda Woch will replicate their fine form.

On the other hand, Mazatlán's form overall has been poor, managing just one win and one draw in 10 outings.

Atlético San Luis will be looking to bounce back from a 3-2 defeat to Juárez matchday 10 when they host bottom-placed Necaxa on Monday.

Atlético`s defeat to Juárez was their third in a row and saw them slip from eighth place to tenth on the standings.

They will turn to forwards Daniela Carrandi and Joana Robles who have both scored three goals and are the club's top scorers.

Atlético are 10th on the standings with three wins, two draws and five losses in 10 ties.
