Monterrey in Chivas litmus test as América seek to go past Altas: Liga MX Femenil Week 10 Preview

Monterrey will have to pass Chivas Guadalajara test when they travel to the Estadio Akron on Sunday evening if they are to extend their Liga MX Femenil dominance.

The match which will attract a lot of attention as well as measure the depth of Monterrey`s dominance as the hosts push for a win which would see them overtake the log leaders by a point.

The visitors will be hoping that forward Christina Buckenroad, who is the club's top scorer with six goals from nine matches, will be in good form to add onto her goal tally. Monterrey will also turn to the services of able goalkeeper Claudia Lozoya who has proved to be a wall in gatekeeping having registered five clean sheets for Las Rayadas so far this season. The hosts, on the other hand, will set their eyes on star forwards Gabriela Valenzuela, Joseline Montoya and Adriana Iturbide for goals

The sides have met 16 times with the hosts winning four, losing six and drawing six.

Monterrey have a nine-match winning streak which has taken them to 27 points whilst Chivas are on 25 points from eight wins and a draw.

Meanwhile, third-placed Club América will be looking to keep pressure on the teams above them when they travel to the Estadio Universitario for a clash against Tigres on Tuesday morning.

Las Amazonas cruised to their third win in a row with a 5-0 victory over Atlas on matchday nine and will be looking to add momentum with a task away to Tigres. Tigres, on the other hand, will be looking to rebound from a disappointing 2-0 loss to Club Tijuana on matchday nine.

Carmelina Moscato`s side will unleash the unrelenting Mia Fishel who has appeared nine times for them in the Liga MX Femenil this term scoring six goals and currently tops the goal charts. The hosts, on the other hand, will set their sights on forwards Katty Martínez and María Mauleón, who were both on the scoresheet in their last encounter, scoring a hattrick and brace respectively.

The sides have met 33 times with Tigres winning 10, losing 15 and drawing eight.

Club América are sitting third on the table with 23 points from seven wins and two draws and remain undefeated whilst Tigres have registered 18 points from six wins in nine outings.

Fourth-placed Pachuca will be looking to bounce back from a humiliating 5-0 demolition at the hands of Monterrey on matchday nine when they welcome struggling Mazatlán at the Estadio Hidalgo on Tuesday morning.

The hosts have failed to register a win in their last two matches, a recent form that has left them five points behind third-placed Club América and nine points behind log leaders Monterrey.

Las Tuzas will not be thinking of dropping any more points as they are confident of their star forward Charlyn Corral who is topping the Liga MX Femenil charts with 11 goals in nine games.

On the other hand, Mazatlán have been struggling so far and will be looking to win so that they avoid dropping closer to the relegation zone. Las Canoneras have failed to register a single win in their last four matches.

The hosts have recorded 18 points from six wins whilst the visitors have four points from one win and a draw and are 17th on the table..

Juárez will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing 1-0 loss to Club León on matchday nine when they host AGómeztlético San Luis on Saturday.

Las Bravas will be hoping to end their three-game drought as they face ninth-placed Atlético who find themselves on 11 points and in the middle of the table.

Las Bravas will be looking up to their forwards Miah Zuazua, Myra Delgadillo and South African forwards Jaime Seoposenwe for goals whilst Atlético’s Daniela Carrandi will be looking for more goals for her side.

The teams have met six times since 2019 with Juárez winning three, losing one and drawing two.

Club Tijuana will be confident to build on their 2-0 victory over Tigres last weekend when they travel to struggling Club Necaxa on Tuesday.

Forwards Renae Cuéllar and Dulce Maria Alvarado were on target in their 2-0 win over Tigres last weekend and Las Xoloitzcuintles will be tipping the pair to replicate their fine form in this encounter.

The hosts, on the other hand, have been struggling of late, managing just a single win in their last five matches. They have collected just three points from nine games so far.

Jorge Gomez`s side will be confident of their 1-0 win over Cruz Azul last weekend, being their only triumph this season and will be hoping that forward Samantha Calvillo will be in fine form for the team to collect the crucial points.

Club Tijuana are seventh on the standings with 16 points after registering four wins, three draws and three losses whilst strugglers Necaxa are last on the standings with only a single win in all their nine outings.

Club León  will be looking to add yet another three points when they travel to Stadio La Noria for a clash with Cruz Azul on Saturday.

The hosts will be aiming for maximum points and boast of a 1-0 victory over Juárez in their last match.

Alejandro Corona`s side will be banking on midfielder Karime Abud and forward Daniela Flores for goals whilst the visitors will be banking on midfielder Mariana Larroquette and forwards Daniela Calderón and Ann Rusch for goals.

The teams have met 20 times with the hosts winning 12, drawing nine and losing six.

Atlas will be looking to bounce back from their back-to-back defeats to Chivas and Club América when they host 11th placed Pumas at the Estadio Jalisco on Saturday.

Fabiola Vargas` side will be placing their hopes in forwards Carolina Venegas, Zellyka Arce and Paola Garcia to steer them to a win whilst Pumas will be banking on forward Dinora Lizeth Garza for goals.

Las Rojinegras are eighth on the table and have collected 12 points from four wins in nine outings whilst Pumas are 11th and have collected nine points from two wins and three draws in nine matches.

The teams have played 25 times with Atlas winning only five, losing eight and drawing 12.

Puebla will be looking to bounce back from a 1-1 draw against Pumas on matchday nine when they host Querétaro on Sunday evening at the Estadio Cuauhtemoc.

Forwards Miriam Castro and Daniela Auza will stop at nothing to take the hosts to a victory which would take them to 10 points and leap-frog them to 11th place on the table if Club León and Santa Laguna drop points elsewhere. On the other hand, the visitors will unleash their forwards Edna Santamaria and Leidy Ramos, who will be hoping to rejuvenate their team to a second triumph in the last five matches.

The hosts are 15th on log standings having registered two wins,one draw and six losses in their last nine outings whilst the visitors sit in 12th place with two wins, three draws and four losses in the same number of outings.

Santos Laguna and visitors Deportivo Toluca, both winless in their last two encounters, will be at each other's throat as they search for a crucial win on Tuesday.

A win would see the visitors moving out of the danger zone.

The hosts are currently 13th on the log standings having registered nine points so far this season with two wins, three draws and four losses and remain on level points with Querétaro whilst the visitors remain struggling in the relegation zone with one win,three draws and five losses.
