Monterrey seek to rebound as Chivas, America, Tigres seek to keep pressure: Liga MX Femenil Week 12 Preview

Log leaders CF Monterrey will be looking to bounce back when they travel to 12th placed U.N.A.M Pumas on Saturday after being held to a 1-1 at home to U.N.A.L Tigres last weekend.

Nigerian centre forward Chinwendu Ihezuo, who was on the scoresheet in their last game, will be looking to create more trouble for Pumas defence, teaming up with fellow forward Christina Burkenroad who has managed to score seven goals to her name this season.

With 10 wins, two draws and one loss in 13 games against Pumas, Monterrey head into the match with a historical advantage.

Meanwhile, Club América will be looking for their second victory in a row when they travel to sixth placed Juárez FC on Moday.

Having registered six wins and one draw in their last seven games against Juárez, Las Águilas head into this match with heads held high.

They also boast of their top marks-woman Kiana Palacios, who hopes to continue with her goal-scoring form, having scored eight goals so far.

On the other hand, Juárez will be banking on home advantage as they search for a victory after a disappointing one-all draw against Cruz Azul last weekend.

They will be hoping that Miah Zuazua and in form central midfielder Jasmine Casarez will continue with their impressive form in front of goal.

Guadalajara Chivas, who sit in third place on the log, host Atlético San Luis at the Estadio Akron on Friday.

Having played two consecutive games without a single win, Juan Pablo's girls head into this encounter seeking to keep pressure in the title race.

On the other hand, ninth-placed Atlético San Luis will be confident to add another victory to their name after they dismantled bottom-placed Club Necaxa last Monday.

The teams have met seven times with Guadalajara Chivas registering five wins and two draws.

Buoyed by their 7-2 triumph over Club Tijuana last weekend, CF Pachuca will be hoping to make it three wins in a row when they travel to Estadio Cuauhtémoc for a clash against Puebla on Sunday.

Las Tuzas will be banking on dependable forward and top marks-woman Charlyn Corral, who netted a hattrick against Club Tijuana last weekend and tops charts in the Liga MX Femenil with 14 goals. Corral and fellow forward Jennifer Hermoso had a combined five goals in their last game with one coming from left back Jillian Jennings and one from substitute Lizbeth Ángeles. They will all be expected to replicate their fine form and steer the team to a win.

They have registered just a single win in their last five outings.

The teams have met nine times with Pachuca winning seven and drawing two.

U.A.N.L Tigres will be looking to bounce back from a one-all draw against log leaders Monterrey when they host Cruz Azul at the Estadio Universitario on Friday.

Midfielder Maricarmen Reyes Zárate scored the only goal that saw her team come back in the game last weekend and the 22-year-old will be looking to repeat the feat and lead her team to a crucial victory in their quest to overtake fourth-placed Pachuca.

La Máquinas, on the other hand, will be looking for their first victory in five games when they head into this encounter.

The teams have met nine times with Tigres winning seven and drawing two.

Club Tijuana will be looking to bounce back from a humiliating 7-2 loss to Pachuca when they host Santos Laguna on Tuesday.

Having registered three wins, two draws and one loss in six matches, Las Xoloitzcuintles will be looking to add another triumph having managed a victory at home in this fixture the last time they played on September 13th.

Santos Laguna, on the other hand, will be looking for a victory as they are sinking deep into relegation after failing to secure a victory in their last three matches.

Atlas will be looking to make it two wins in a row when they clash with struggling Querétaro on Monday.

The hosts will be looking to collect maximum points against a struggling Querétaro side that is 13th on the log with just 11 points from 11 matches.

The teams have met 12 times with the hosts winning nine, drawing two and losing one.

Club León will be looking for their second win in a row when they visit Estadio de Mazatlán for a date with hosts Mazatlán on Monday.
