Nerrazure host Rossonere in Milan derby as troubled Sassuolo face fiery Roma: Serie A Femminile Week 6 Preview

The Milan derby showdown plays out at the Breda Stadium Milano this Saturday with Rita Guarino’s Inter hosting Maurizio Ganz’s AC Milan in a Serie A Femminile matchday six date.

The stakes are high as Inter look to extend their unbeaten run to six matches whilst AC Milan look for a fourth straight win. Nerrazure draw momentum from a 3-1 win over Como a fortnight ago whilst AC Milan will draw morale from their 2-1 win over Sampdoria a fortnight ago.

Ganz’s side will turn to the services of in-form Swedish forward Kosovare Asllani who is club top scorer and joint-third top scorer in the current Serie A campaign with four goals whilst Inter will be banking on in-form French midfielder Ghoutia karchouni who is on three goals in five matches.

Karchouni is also top assist raker in the current Serie A campaign with three.

Inter will also ride on the industry of goalkeeper Francesca Durante who has managed 20 saves this season despite keeping a clean sheet just once so far.

Inter are at the summit of the standings on 13 points from four wins and a draw in five outings whilst Milan are sixth on nine points from three wins in the same number of matches.

Elsewhere, AS Roma will be looking to keep pressure on log leaders Inter Milan when they play Sassuolo away on Sunday.

Roma will be buoyed by their 5-0 demolition of Parma before the international break and will be looking to make it three wins on the trot whilst Sassuolo will be looking for their first win of the term.

Roma will ride on the exploits of former AC Milan skipper Valentina Giacinti who is club top scorer and joint-third top scorer in the current Serie A campaign with four goals.

Le Giallorosse will also rely on midfielder-cum-forward Annamaria Serturini who is joint-second assist raker in the current Serie A campaign with two.

Roma are second on the standings on 12 points — one less than log leaders Inter — from four wins in five contests whilst Sassuolo are bottom of the log on one point from one draw in the same number of encounters.

Defending champions Juventus will be looking for their second win on the bounce when they play Sampdoria away on Sunday afternoon.

Bouyant following their comfortable 3-0 win over Pomigliano before the break, the champions will be looking to get amongst the wins as they look to wrestle top spot from Inter whilst Sampdoria will be looking to bounce back from a 2-1 defeat to AC Milan before the break.

Juventus’ top scorer Cristiana Girelli is a doubt for the clash with an abdominal muscle injury which she suffered three weeks ago and the Bianconere will turn to the services of former Bayern Munich forward Lineth Beerensteyn who is club second top scorer with three goals and striker Sofia Cantore who is club third top scorer with two goals.

Juventus will also pin their hopes on midfielders Arianna Caruso and Julia Grosso who are joint-second top assist rakers in the current Serie A campaign with two apiece.

Third place Fiorentina will be looking to keep pressure on the teams above them when they play guests to eight place Pomigliano on Saturday afternoon.

Viola will draw morale from their 2-0 home win over Sassuolo before the break whilst Pomigliano will be looking to rebound from a 3-0 defeat to Juventus away before the break.

Fiorentina — who have enjoyed a good start to the season which has seen them record four wins amounting to 12 points in five matches and are below second place Roma on goal difference — will be banking on the exploits of former OL Reign Hungarian forward Zsanett Kajan who is club top scorer with three goals.

Pomigliano will be without midfielder Virginia Di Giammarino who was shown a second yellow in their 3-0 defeat to Juventus for simulation.

The hosts are looking for their first win of the season and have one point from one draw in five contests.

Como will be looking for an elusive first win of the season when they host Parma in a newcomers clash on Saturday afternoon.

Como are ninth on the standings on one point from one draw in five outings whilst Parma are seventh on three points from one win in the same number of matches.
