PREVIEW: Hoffenheim vs Wolfsburg
Hoffenheim will seek to shake off the midweek UEFA Women's Champions League defeat to Arsenal as they head into the Frauen-Bundesliga clash against second placed Wolfsburg at home on Sunday.
Gabor Gallai’s side are also looking to recover from their last Bundesliga defeat away to log leaders Bayern Munich on Saturday. Forward Nicole Billa scored the only goal for the visitors in a 3-1 defeat. They are on fifth position on the log with 10 points, trailing the log leaders by five points.
On the other hand, Wolfsburg have lots of confidence going into the clash coming from an emphatic 5-0 UEFA Champions League win over Servette FC Chênois Féminin of Switzerland on Wednesday.
Tommy Stroot’s team, sitting on second place with 13 points from five matches, will also have confidence oozing from their last Bundesliga outing where they won 3-0 against FC Köln at home. Goals from Shanice van de Sanden, Jill Rood and Svenja Huth saw the Saxony club come to within two points of the log leaders, Bayern Munich.
Wolfsburg will also try to use their momentum coming from three wins and two draws from their last five outings while Hoffenheim will have to make the best they can from three wins and two defeats from the same number of outings.
