PREVIEW: Inter vs Juventus
Juventus will be looking to extend their unbeaten run in the Serie A Femminile when they visit fourth placed Inter at the Felice Chinetti Stadium on Saturday.
Juventus beat Napoli 2-0 in their last Serie A Femminile match but saw their overall unbeaten run being ended by Chelsea in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
The Bianconere, despite having a 100% record in the Serie A so far, have also been dethroned from the summit of the log by US Sassuolo, who now top the log on goal difference.
Meanwhile, Inter are coming from a crucial 1-0 win over AS Roma which saw them come to within six points of the log leaders.
The Le Nerazzurre now have the momentum of three wins and two defeats from their last five outings, while Juventus, with the recent UEFA Women’s Champions League defeat to Chelsea, have four wins and one loss in their last five encounters.
Inter have, however, lost their last four previous encounters against Juventus, a stat which will add confidence to the visiting defending champions.
Both teams will have another confidence boost with a number of players involved in their national team’s wins in the latest round of the Women’s World Cup qualifiers during the international break.
Inter will be wary of Bianconere in-form forward, Cristiana Girelli, who scored and assisted in Italy’s 3-0 win over Croatia.
