Real Sociedad in Barcelona test

Second-placed Real Sociedad have a date with Barcelona in a week 18 rescheduled match at home at the Centro de Entrenamiento Zubieta on Wednesday evening.

The initial match was postponed due to several Covid-19 positive cases in the Sociedad camp.

The Natalia Arroyo coached side are coming into this match after drawing 2-2 against Atletico Madrid on Sunday.

After consolidating their second place in the standings, the hosts will be hoping to give the defending champions a difficult moment.

Barcelona, on the other hand, are coming from a 7-0 win against struggling Eibar on Sunday, a result which took them to 60 points, having not lost a match this season.

The visitors are hoping that they will get their revenge on the first leg drubbing by the defending champions.

The defending champions have all the arsenal to win the match with the likes of forward Asisat Oshoala, who leads the goal scorers’ charts with 16 goals, and midfielder Alexia Putellas, who is leading in assists in the division.

Dutch forward Lieke Martens is also a player to watch out for, having 27 goal involvements this season, consisting of 15 goals and 12 assists.

The defending champions welcomed midfielder Aitana Bonmati from injury in their match against Eibar at the weekend and she scored a goal after coming on as a substitute.
