Roma end Juventus unbeaten start as Como stun Inter: Serie A Femminile Week 6 Round-Up

· Fiorentina recorded a 1-0 win over AC Milan on Saturday
Juventus’ unbeaten start to the season ended with a 3-1 defeat to defending champions AS Roma at home on Sunday afternoon.
Roma midfielder Manuela Guigliano opened the scoring with a strike on 27 minutes and the visitors would take their lead to the break.
Former LSK Kvinner forward Emilie Haavi doubled the lead for Roma with a strike in the 50th minute before former Gotham FC forward Evelyne Viens made it 3-0 with a strike just seven minutes later, assisted by forward Valentina Giacinti.
Viens’ goal took her season’s tally to four and saw her become joint-second top scorer with Juventus striker Cristiana Girelli in the current Serie A Femminile campaign.
Canadian midfielder Julia Grosso pulled one back for Juventus just three minutes later, assisted by Girelli, but it would not be enough to stop Le Giallorosse from extending their unbeaten start to the season.
Roma remain at the apex of the Serie A standings on 18 points from six wins in six outings whilst Juventus remain second on 15 points from five wins in the same number of contests.

Meanwhile, FC Como stunned Inter with a 2-1 win at home on Sunday evening.
Midfielder Miriam Picchi opened the scoring for Como in the eighth minute of the first half before forward Agnese Bonfantini levelled the scores for Inter from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time and the teams would retreat for the break.
19-year-old Finnish striker Oona Sevenius restored the hosts’ lead with a strike on 70 minutes with an assist from midfielder Margherita Monnecchi and it would be enough to seal their third full set of points this season.
The defeat saw Inter slip from fourth to fifth on the Serie A standings on 10 points from three wins and a draw in six contests whilst Como rose from fifth to fourth on 13 points from four wins and a draw in the same number of outings and are below third place Fiorentina on goal difference.

AC Milan continued with their indifferent start to the season registering a 1-0 defeat to Fiorentina away on Saturday afternoon.
Serbian international Milica Mijatović struck in the second minute of the second half with an assist from right-back Kaja Eržen to seal the all-important three points for the Florence side.
Milan remain sixth on the Serie A standings on seven points from two wins and a draw in six encounters whilst Fiorentina are third on 13 points from four wins and a draw in the same number of ties.

A solitary Tatiely Cristina Sena das Neves strike was enough for Sampdoria to edge Pomigliano 1-0 away on Saturday afternoon.
The Brazilian international struck from the penalty spot eight minutes from time as the visitors collected their second full set of points of the season.
Pomigliano’s Gaia Apicella was shown a red card after receiving a second yellow for a foul five minutes into the second half.
Sampdoria remain seventh on the Serie A standings on six points from two wins in six ties whilst Pomigliano remain ninth on a single point in the same number of encounters.

Sassuolo recorded their first win of the term with a 1-0 win over troubled Serie A returnees Napoli away on Sunday afternoon.
17-year-old substitute midfielder Manuela Sciabica struck 20 minutes from time to secure Gianpiero Piovani’s first full set of points.
Sassuolo remain eighth on the Serie A standings on four points from one win and one draw in six outings whilst Napoli remain at the bottom of the log with no points after the same number of contests.
