Real Madrid have their eyes fixed on their rescheduled week three fixture against hosts UDG Tenerife at the Estadio La Palmera tonight.

The Madrid side go into this fixture intending to keep reducing the gap with log leaders Barcelona.

The match was supposed to have been played on Saturday, September 24, 2022 but an alert concerning a storm caused the fixture to be postponed.

It will be Real’s third visit to this venue with the visitors losing once and drawing twice. They will be looking to unleash their devastating form to register their first victory at this venue and keep alive their hopes of ending Barcelona’s Liga F dominance.

The visitors also boast of the league's third top goal scorer in forward Esther González with 15 goals who is assured of able support from Scottish midfielder Caroline Weir who has a 20-goal contribution this season (11 goals and 9 assists) and is fourth ranked goal scorer in the league.

Weir has been a wonder for the Madrid side after her move from English side Manchester City last summer.

On the other hand, the hosts recorded two wins against Real Sociedad (2-1) and Athletic Club (1-0) in their last three matches and moved up the log standings to ninth on 20 points.

They have not been doing well and will be hoping that forwards Jassina Blom and María José Pérez González have perfected their shooting and the defence is at its best to deal with the danger posed by the Real attackers.

Tenerife midfielder Paola Hernández referred to this fixture as “a good opportunity to continue with our good work ethic. We go to the game very well prepared and we want to take advantage of the good moment we are going through to continue adding more points”.

Her words were echoed by goalkeeper Noelia Ramos who spoke of the importance of utilising home advantage: “Our home is our fort, we have to go all out, convinced that it is a rival that is going to make things difficult for us. In our field and with our people we have to pull together to get a positive result”.
