Champions Wolfsburg will be looking to make it three wins on the trot when they host Bayer Leverkusen in a top-of-the-table showdown at the AOK Stadium on Friday evening.

Buoyed by their 2-1 defeat of Hoffenheim last weekend, Tommy Stroot’s side will be looking to establish themselves as early title favourites with a win at home this weekend whilst Bayer, with momentum from their 1-0 win over FC Köln in the Rhenish derby last weekend, will be looking to put up a show which puts them in better stead overall this season having finished seventh last season. Wolfsburg and Bayer are the only two teams in the Frauen-Bundesliga with a 100% record so far and have the weekend contest to see who gives up their winning streak.

Die Wölfinnen will ride on the industry of forward Ewa Pajor who is joint-top scorer in the current Frauen-Bundesliga campaign with two goals, and forward Julie Brand and midfielder Jill Roord who scored a goal each in their 2-1 win over Hoffenheim last weekend.

Bayer, on the other hand, will hinge on the exploits of Dutchwoman Jill Bayings who is also joint-top scorer in the current Frauen-Bundesliga campaign with two goals.

Wolfsburg are first on the standings on superior goal difference with six points from two wins in as many matches whilst Bayer are second on the same number of points in the same number of outings.

Elsewhere, former champions Bayern Munich will be looking for their second win of the season when they play guests to newcomers Duisburg on Sunday afternoon.

Bouncy following an emphatic 3-1 second leg win over Liga F side Real Sociedad in the UEFA Women's Champions League (UWCL) on Thursday evening, Alexander Straus' side will be looking to finally set the tone for the league this season with a win away this weekend.

Bayern recorded their first win of the Frauen-Bundesliga term when they beat Werder Bremen 3-0 last weekend whilst Werder Bremen have managed only a draw so far this term.

The Bavarians have defender Guilai Gwinn, midfielder Linda Dallmann and forward Jovana Damnjanović who scored a goal each in their 3-0 win over Werder Bremen last weekend to bank on.

Duisburg, on the other hand, have midfielder Yvonne Zielinski and defender Kaitlyn Prior Parcell who scored a brace and a goal respectively in their 3-0 win over Potsdam last weekend to bank on.

Bayern are third on the standings on four points from one win and a draw in two matches whilst Duisburg are fifth on three points from one win in the same number of matches.

The last season’s third place finishers will be eager to quickly set the tone for this term with a win at home this weekend whilst Werder Bremen will be looking to bounce back from a 3-0 defeat to Bayern Munich last weekend.

The Frankfurt side will be banking on the services of striker Lara Prasnikar who is joint-top scorer in the current Frauen-Bundesliga campaign with two goals.

Frankfurt are on four points from one win and a draw in two matches whilst Werder Bremen are on a point from one draw in the same number of matches.

Sixth place FC Köln will be looking to rebound from a 1-0 Rhenish derby defeat to Bayer Leverkusen when they host ninth place Potsdam on Saturday.

Potsdam, who succumbed to a shock 3-0 defeat to newcomers Duisburg last weekend, have a single point from one draw in two matches whilst FC Köln are on three points from one win in the same number of matches.

Hoffenheim will be hunting for their first points of the term when they play guests to newcomers Meppen on Sunday.
